Rolldown Screen Common Features & Mounting Options

Most of our rolldown screens are custom size built up to 30’ wide & 20’ high. This varies by screen type and manufacturer.

Frames are made with corrosive resistant aluminum.
Hoods & covers are extruded for higher strength and appearance.
Fasteners used are stainless steel for durability and longevity.
Operating options include manual crank or motorized with remote control, wall switch, app-based control and/or home automation.
Mounting options: We offer 2 primary types of installation; surface mount and built-in both of which are covered below.

In addition to these primary mounting types, we provide custom mounting alternatives to accommodate specialized needs. Shown in the photos here are some of the specialized installations we have done.

Surface Mounting

Surface mounting is our most common installation method. It typically incorporates a decorative hood to contain the reel assembly for aesthetics and protection. The tracks and hoods are fastened to the existing building or support structure leaving both fully exposed. Here are our 3 standard surface mounting options:

Inside face mount (on inside face of the wall)
Outside face mount (on outside face of wall)
Inset mount (within the opening-between wall/column sections)

Built-in Mounting

Built-in mounting is primarily done in new construction and remodeling. This mounting option is often designed by the job architect to conceal some or all of the track and reel assemblies into the building envelope for aesthetics and protection. Here are our 2 built-in mounting options:

Partially built-in (tracks or hoods are partially built-in)
Fully built-in (tracks and hoods are fully built-in)

Hurricane Screens

Our hurricane screens are the predominant member of our rolldown screen family. They even provide insect protection, shade and privacy. Combo Systems

Our combo systems (often called dual-screens) can be a combination of any rolldown shutter or screen type to provide the best multiple protection for each opening.
